The Cross-Species Incident was a conflict between Spider-Man and the Cross-Species Hybrids in 2014, when they nearly escaped from Oscorp Tower and starts attacks across New York City. The conflict had its highlight when Alistair Smythe spread the cross-species virus across the city, which cause the city to become a post-apocalyptic wasteland. However, this chaos was stopped by Spider-Man who successfully defeats Smythe with the help of newly-escaped Curt Connors, and ultimately cured the citizens of the city.
