"Somebody call an ambulance!"
Peter Parker[src]

In 2013, Peter Parker was in a convenience store trying to buy some chocolate milk, he didn't have enough change so had to leave it, Carradine, behind Peter in the queue, knocked something over, to distract the store clerk, then stole the money from the till before throwing the drink to Peter. The man then ran off, pursued by the Store Clerk who asked for Peter's help to catch him. Peter refused due to the owner's greed and the thief ran into Ben Parker, who tried to stop him from picking up his gun. The thief managed to grab his gun and shot Ben in the chest, the thief then ran off, and Ben died almost instantly. This incident inspired Peter to become Spider-Man.

Wanted for Questioning[]

Even after the death of NYPD captain George Stacy, Carradine is still wanted.

Peter then listens to crime reports and follows any that sound like the cash register thief. He locates and apprehends many criminals who fit the description, such as a thug named Nicky and a car thief, but none of them have a tattoo on their wrist. This also gets himself into trouble with the NYPD led by Captain Stacy, who considers Spider-Man as a dangerous menace and vigilante. Even after the death of Captain Stacy, he is still wanted by the police. It is unknown what happened to him, he is possibly hiding.

Video Game Continuity[]

The Amazing Spider-Man 2[]

While in the film continuity it's not known if Peter is still looking for him, in the game the first few missions involve Spider-Man looking for the Cash Register Thief, named in the game as Dennis Carradine. Eventually, Spider-Man finds him dead in a back alley, having been murdered by Cletus Kasady.

Trivia[]

  • In the comics, the man who murdered Ben Parker was simply known as the Burglar.
  • In in the 2014 tie-in video game for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker learns the Cash Register Thief's name is Dennis Carradine (as in the previous trilogy by Sam Raimi) and that he is a gun dealer in NYC. Peter as Spider-Man tracked down Carradine, but he was killed by Cletus Kasady.
  • This iteration of the Burglar is seemingly one of the first to actually get away with his crimes, as he had been previously killed by Peter Parker in the original comics and the Sam Raimi films. This could somewhat be similar to other versions of Joe Chill from the Batman series, where if most, but some versions have him either apprehended, killed by Batman, or having been mentioned or shown to have gotten away with his actions after murdering Bruce Wayne’s parents and still being at large.
