- ―Eddie Brock[src]
Edward "Eddie" Brock is the human host of the alien symbiote Venom. After being transported to another universe as a result of a spell cast by Doctor Strange, he learned about the Avengers, Spider-Man and Thanos before being returned back to his universe. However, he did not knew one piece of Venom was left behind.
Biography[]
Teleporting to Another Universe[]
- “80 billion light-years of Hive knowledge across universes would explode your tiny little brain.”
- ―Venom[src]
In 2020, Brock and Venom became fugitives. They went to a resort in South America. Venom told Brock that symbiotes shared a hive mind that transcended the Multiverse. In a spell cast by Doctor Strange transported people from any universe who knew Peter Parker's secret identity as Spider-Man into his own. Venom was aware of Parker being Spider-Man and thus was taken out of its universe, along with its host Brock, and brought into Strange's universe. Venom and Brock saw a report on television from The Daily Bugle.net where J. Jonah Jameson showed a photo of Parker for his actions of killing Mysterio, as Venom took over the body and licked the TV.
Returning Home[]

Venom and Eddie at at bar
- "Okay. Okay, I think I got this. You're saying that this whole place here, it's just tons of... superpeople."
"And he has been saying it for hours." - ―Eddie Brock and Venom[src]
Venom and Brock then left the room and went to the resort's bar in an attempt to make sense of their surroundings. Over the course of the next several hours, Brock conversed with the bartender and learned that the universe they now occupied contained a multitude of individuals with superhuman abilities, with Venom having to remind Brock of this due to his intoxicated state. The two learned about Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, with Venom chiding Brock for disliking the name "Lethal Protector" after learning that Banner went by the name "Hulk", which Brock admitted of not liking the name "Lethal Protector" by calling it a shit name.
They also learned about Thanos and how his quest to obtain the Infinity Stones resulted in the Snap. Brock did not believe the story about Thanos' as he believed all aliens desire to eat brains. When Brock decided to go to New York City and meet this Spider-Man, Venom suggested that they go skinny dipping instead, although Brock refused. Venom stated that it did not wish to return yet as they had only recently arrived, so he didn't want to go back home. However, Venom left a detached piece of itself behind in that universe.
Personality[]
- "All right, tell me again. I'm sorry, I'm an idiot."
- ―Eddie Brock[src]
Eddie possesses a strong sense of justice that compels him to punish those he sees as evil, rooted in his childhood desire to be seen as a hero. However, this compulsion lead to him committing morally questionably acts himself; and saw him being discredited as a reporter in New York, violating Anne Weying's privacy in order to obtain incriminating evidence against Carlton Drake, and ultimately cost him his job at the MNBN. Following her losing her job because of Eddie's violation of her privacy, Anne Weying described Brock as pathologically self-absorbed, stating his ego requires constant attention and that he is "stubborn as hell." Despite becoming jaded after losing his job, Eddie decides to help Dora Skirth expose Drake's crimes, leading to him bonding to the Venom symbiote.
Despite being disgusted and frightened by the Venom symbiote's bloodlust, Eddie quickly grows to revel in the power it gives him, and is offended and outraged when he discovers that it has been consuming him from the inside-out. Following their reunion, Eddie was initially still bitter towards it; and after the defeat of the Life Foundation, he makes sure to stipulate that the symbiote cannot eat whoever it wants, but can only target bad people.
While Eddie initially expresses hope that he and Anne could get back together, he comes to accept her relationship with Dr. Dan Lewis and apologizes for ruining her career as a lawyer.
